Fabric Depot began in 1984 as a wholesale supplier called Three Star Fabrics. After years of selling exclusively to fabric, drapery, and upholstery businesses and turning away public customers, the company has transitioned over the years to what it is today – a fabric and trim superstore catering to the public.

Fabric Depot is a family run business. John Ashuri, an Architect from Florence, Italy, moved to Calgary with his wife Pari, and his son Amir from Florence in 1984. As Italian architects were not able to practice in Canada, John transitioned his love for design and beauty into fabrics, which have become his passion. The store is now run by John, Pari, Amir, and their extended family and friends.
