The award-winning Long Island Children’s Museum is a creative, innovative and inspiring destination for children and their grownups. LICM offers daily early childhood programs, hands-on exhibits, workshops and a state-of-the-art theater to provide families with ample opportunities to play and learn…together. The idea for the Long Island Children’s Museum started as a dinner conversation between a group of Long Island educators, artists and business people–parents all–committed to the creation of an exciting place for the community that would stimulate a child’s natural curiosity and educate them through exploration and play. Since its opening, LICM has welcomed more than 3.5 million visitors. LICM has received local and national recognition, including the National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor conferred on museums and libraries in recognition of their extraordinary service to the community. LICM is a private, not-for-profit institution.
