Pezhham Akhavass is a master of Persian percussion and a gifted teacher. He has played throughout the world with some of the greatest Persian musicians of our age including, Shahram Nazeri, Hossein Alizadeh, AliAkbar Moradi, … His primary instruction includes: Tombak, Daf, Setar, Persian Classical Theory, and Persian Radif. He accepts students of all age ranges. He is fluent in both English and Farsi. Class format includes: one-on-one, virtual, and group lessons.
History
Established in 1995.
Pezhham Akhavass began his Persian music training at age 5. He has performed with many of the masters of Iran, such as; Shahram Nazeri, Hossein Alizadeh, AliAkbar Moradi, YoYo Ma, … You can find his music on Spotify and iTunes. Feeling a call to give back to the tradition of Persian music he began music instruction in 1995. His first school was formed in Iran. In 2008 he started his school in San Francisco, Bay Area, California.
