Creating loyalty through service, The Dead Poet is dedicated to all the fine people of Manhattan whether they are musicians, writers, College Students, Teachers, or the working class. We have a reputation for pouring the finest pint of beer in town! The atmosphere at The Dead Poet is amiable and upbeat, and our proficient staff makes everyone feel welcome. We will proudly fill your glass with one of our Signature Cocktails (listed below), a pint of premium draft beer, or, if you prefer, you can sample our extensive Irish whiskey menu. With a reputation for pouring one of the finest pints of Guinness in New York City-our pint is always fresh and proudly served with a Shamrock. In 2001 we introduced the 100 Pints of Guinness Club. We track your progress carefully, and when you reach 100 pints of Guinness, we engrave your name on our Guinness plaque. When you reach 500 pints, you get your own plaque and photo on our Guinness Wall of Fame. To date, we have over 1000 members.
Established in 2000.
The Dead Poet first opened in 2000. Owner, Drew Dvorkin, wanted to create a place for the New York community that stood out amongst the other pubs and bars in the neighborhood, thus making great service his number one priority. Merging his literature background with his bartending experience, The Dead Poet emerged. The mahogany-panelled walls are adorned with black and white portraits, musing quotations, and poetic passages pertaining to the universal quandaries of life.
